12.4% inflation prompts cut in fuel VAT rates 30 April 2022
Estonia is the latest country to turn to a temporary Value Added Tax rate cut to help combat spiking prices on the global energy markets. VAT on petrol, diesel, heating oil and gas will be cut from 30 April 2022. The rate on such supplies will drop from 9% to 5%. At the same time, duties on effected fuels will be dropped.
A number of EU countries are cutting fuel and basics VAT to help households deal with record inflation rates this winter.
