India is relaxing some of the Goods and Services Tax compliance requirements in acknowledgement of the severe economic disruption being caused by the COVID-19 crisis.
The following Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs published the following reliefs:
- Delay of up to 30 days for the March / April GSTR 3B with a turnover between 5 Cr and 5 Cr resp. The same for the first quarter of 2021 GSTR 3B – a 30 day delay
- GSTR-1 for April is moved from 26 May to 28 May
- GSTR-4 deadline is extended to 31 May for the first quarter of 2021
- There are also extensive reductions of interest payments on GST due depending on size of payments and delay in payments.
Indian GST was introduced in 2017.
